At the Jackson County Libraries....KIDS RULE!! That's why we organize many special events and programs that are just for kids. We do a lot of fun things like make crafts, read stories, watch movies and have snacks. We hope you'll come and join us

                                                                  Children's Story Hour

Children's story hour is held each week at the Jackson County Libraries. Stories, games, fingerplays, movies and crafts are provided for preschool age children

After school children's programs are held each month at the Jackson County Libraries. All programs are free of charge. Call your library for more information

Programs start at 3:30.  Space is limited. Registration required.

The "1000" Books Before Kindergarten" program is a reading program open to children from birth to age five.    The goal is to have parents read to their children from the time they are born until they begin school and beyond. 

Participants register at one of the Jackson County Libraries with locations in Jackson, Lakefield and Heron Lake. Each child will receive a book bag, book mark, pencil and reading log packet to keep track of titles read.  Participants receive prizes along the way to their "graduation".   Please contact the library for more information.
