My Minnesota Health | Welcome to the Jackson County Library “Adult & Teen Winter Reading Program at Your Library” Adults & teens – 7th-12th grades -, are you feeling the winter blahs? The library has the answer. Curl up with a good book this winter and earn prizes by reading! The “Hot Reads for Cold Nights” winter reading program has kicked off at the Jackson County Libraries and will run through March 31st. Adults & teens are invited to stop in the library, pick up a punch card, and start reading or listening to books. Get 12 punches on your card (by reading or listening to 12 titles) and earn two great prizes. Punch cards are available at the library. New Portal for State Library Services MnKnows – Dig Deeper @ Your Library is the new portal that gives Minnesota students and library patrons one-stop access to five statewide library services: MNLINK, Electronic Library for Minnesota (ELM), Minnesota Reflections, AskMN, and the Research Project Calculator. Book Discussion Group A book discussion group meets each month at the Jackson County Libraries. A wide variety of books are reviewed and discussed. For more information and to sign up, please contact your local library. Jackson (847-4748) Group meets the third Monday of each month at 1 PM in the library's meeting room. Lakefield (662-5782) Group meets first Wednesday of each month at 3 PM in the library's meeting room. Heron Lake (793-2641) Group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 2 PM in the library's meeting room. Read and Share Magazine Exchange Done reading those magazines? Think it's a waste to just throw them out each month? Bring them to the library and share them with other magazine readers. In each Jackson County library, there's a table where you can leave the magazines that you're finished with, and while you're there, browse through the magazines that others have left....maybe you'll find something interesting. |
